Old Dudes - In english

STORY OF THE BAND:

In the summer 2006 Arto invited his old friends together in the garage, friends who had played in their early ages ( 20-30 years ago) but finished playing for some reason or another. The purpose was to try to play anything, and then afterwards go to sauna and enjoy some beer. That all went well, and thats why we decided to do it again. Surprisingly every now and then playing sounded and felt good

Everybody wanted to continue, but what to play ? Didnt want to play the same everybody does. After we played with tongue-in-cheek style Hello Mary Lou, one of our friends said, that if you play that type of country, I can guarantee you are going to have audience. Almost all had rocknroll, rock, heavy, progressive, jazz etc. background certainly some of us had also done little bit folk and country also. But regardless of that, it sounded fun! That was it.

Then we had to decide whether we want to perform also on stage? We decided YES we want to try it if we have such opportunities. We thought that if we have so fun when playing it must reflect also to audience we are the band. After approximately 10 rehearsals we jumped on stage and 2007 had first five gigs. After few years we still have fun playing and have had gigs regularly.

We recorded also ten different types of songs we played in that time in winter 2008 and released it in the summer 2008. There is few of them left if you are interested please contact to us.

BAND PRINCIPLES:

Band is a hobby for everyone, thats why all actions must be aligned that way. Nobody is more important than another, and the band is not collected around any specific band member although vocalist is obviously the front man during gigs! All songs are approved by everyone, and all communication is also very straight forward. With these alignments we ensure that good and relaxed atmosphere stays within the band. We hope that this reflects also to the audience.

Show and surprise elements are fundamental to us and thats why we have had special guest stars along us, and there will be more

SOMETHING MORE ABOUT MUSIC:

We play all kinds of music, mainly there is some country influence included. We have country versions of Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin and Abba. We play also some traditional country songs with our own influences, f.ex. Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. We have also included some old outlaw songs from Kris Kristoffersson and more cowpunk f.ex. from Hank III. We have also included plenty of Finnish songs.

Whatever we play we are not too serious when performing it. Tempo is varying, we have slow and fast tempo songs, it can vary even within the song! We have used many languages: English, Finnish, Swedish, Russian - and there will be more.

In conclusion we play almost anything almost however we want and almost with anybony.
